SPDP offers training to leaders

Somali People Democratic Party (SPDP) said it is offering training on the proclamation of code of conduct for political parties to its senior and middle level leaders.

Speaking at the training SPDP deputy chairperson Dawid Mohammed said the training would help the leaders to contribute their share towards free, peaceful and democratic election.

Dawid, who is also Chief of the Somali State, said the training was organized in collaboration with the Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF).

He said clear understanding of the law would help to address problems that might occur during the election.

He said the party has fielded 23 candidates to federal parliament and 183 for the regional council.

The deputy chairperson said the development activities carried out in the region benefited the pastoralist community at all levels in the past years.

He said SPDP would strive further to improve the livelihood of the pastoralists community.

Dawid urged the residents of the state to discharge their responsibility to make the upcoming election free, peaceful, democratic and truthful on the part of the electorate.

More than 200 senior and middle level leaders of the party are attending a weeklong training.
